Drawing on the most iconic image of the Wiepersdorf region—the tale of Rotkäppchen—the project explores how folklore and contemporary culture alike are constructed through reiteration and reinterpretation. In a striking reversal of the classic narrative, two Rotkäppchens install concrete sculptures of the “Two,” rejecting imposed roles and asserting new modes of agency. The figure of the Wolf, too, is transformed—released from traditional gendered scripts, he becomes a symbol of vulnerability and emotional freedom. The work reflects on the layered nature of culture as a network of references, where every “original” is already a repetition in dialogue with others.
This kinetic installation includes a hidden water container connected to small tubes. The liquid flows gently through the eyes of the wolf, resembling silent tears. The mechanism highlights the reflection on emotional tension and duality of the work.
