Cameo (from the Old French camaieu - treasure, jewel) is a kind of gem, a carved semi-precious stone with a convex relief image.

The Cameo series is formed like a poetic text. Anton is inspired by works of Russian symbolism, iconography and Soviet modernism, melting everything into a strange collage. Monuments and frames, flowers and architectural forms turn into a barely readable elusive statement. As in the poetry of Symbolism, the moods in these works are contradictory - from the desire for innovation to the use of traditional forms. The blue color that unites all graphics is a limitation and at the same time a reference to the coloristic culture of death, the surface of the chroma key and the “missing” color among the ancient Greeks.
