"I found this book of logo-rhythms in the building entrance and it was really old. It surprised me that somebody just simply threw it away. It was published in 1947 by some soviet military ministry, something like that. So I just started to cut out those tables, glue them together and drew something over it.
It fascinated me that first of all, this is a system of numbers, almost no other signs, except for few letters is so strict and austere. So I was interested that by putting some picture over it (a bit poetic in a sense) I create a conflict between these layers – between strictness and poeticism. I also have been interested in a theme lately where I create an image above certain textile or background, as it is a layer or a patch."
