“What if” is the running theme for almost all of my projects. By recutting some pieces of reality, I am trying to get rid of the frustration that is out there in society, or is my own.
Alena Smolina was born in 1986 in Saint-Petersburg (then Leningrad), Russia. She graduated from Saint Petersburg Stieglitz State Academy of Art and Design in 2010. She works with different medias like painting, graphic design, installation, sculpture and animation, but leans toward painting as her "home base" media.
